I am a lawyer specialising in real estate law, with more than 15 years of professional experience. I have served as an advisor in all types of property sales transactions, including foreclosed real estate portfolios (REOs), loans/credit backed with real estate collateral (REDs), payment in kind, sale and leaseback, leasing, construction, EPC, turnkey, development, delegated development, forward funding, forward purchase, hotel management and real estate financing.
I also have experience in corporate legal counsel, corporate governance, compliance and social responsibility as General Counsel and Secretary of the Board.
Prior to joining Fieldfisher JAUSAS, I served as General Counsel and Secretary of the Board at Neinor Homes, S.A., Spain’s leading residential developer, listed on the Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao and Valencia stock exchanges. In addition, I worked as the Legal Manager in the Transactions department of the Company for the Management of Assets arising from the Restructuring of the Banking System (SAREB) and General Counsel for Spain and Portugal at Virgin Active, a Health & Fitness company owned by CVC and Sir Richard Branson.
Before becoming an in-house lawyer, I served as senior associate and associate in the Real Estate departments of the law firms DLA Piper and Garrigues, respectively.
I teach real estate law in several master’s programmes at the Instituto de Empresa, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, ISDE and the Centro Universitario Cardenal Cisneros.
I hold a law degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and a master’s in Business Law from the Centro de Estudios Garrigues. I have also completed a specialisation programme in Financial Investments in the Real Estate Sector at IE, an advanced programme in Urban Planning, and a negotiation programme, both at the Instituto de Empresa.
I have been named one of Spain’s top lawyers specialising in real estate by the US publication Best Lawyers and I collaborated in writing the Francis Lefebvre “Memento Inmobiliario”.
